january day...

Why yes, the start of a new year is the perfect opportunity for new clothes - if you have anything left from the Christmas/New year's festivities. If you're broke - atleast throw out the old and recycle the boring.

Need some inspiration? Here is my favourite looks for January days...

                                              High-waisted skirts with belts.

                                             Mini-dresses and colourful heels.

                                                   Corset-inspired tops.

                                                Long, flowy dresses.

                                           offcourse the jean-pant :-)

                                         Wearing white and off-pink together.

Happy shopping!

river rocked end of 2011

Posted by Unknown Wednesday, January 18, 2012 0 comments
A couple of weekends ago we celebrated the end of 2011 and the start of 2012...And what a way to celebrate! We jumped in the car at about 19h00 on Saturday and drove the small distance to Rock the River from Cape Town. We arrived to a "smallish" venue on a farm covered in sand and dust. Everywhere we could see people hanging around their tents and playing in the "streets" - it reminded me a lot of photos from the Apartheids years in District Six, where people were "camping" on their stoeps and the kids playing in the streets. We quickly set up camp and went off to go get a beer at the festival.

The festival is a lot different from Rocking the Daisies and other parties like Synergy: smaller, less facilities and a totally different crowd - we definitely saw a lot of metal heads wondering around with thick make-up and doc martins. But nevertheless it was good to be there and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation of what the evening will hold.

We hopped between the metal-stage, the electro tent and the beer tents in the 4 hours before the countdown to 2012. We arrived a little too happy at the main stage for the countdown just 30seconds before 12 o 'clock. With a warm Hunters Dry in my one hand and my boyfriend on my side - It was a good way to end a fantastic year!

There was a few hiccups here and there: not enough toilets and showers! And the river more like a pond!! But it was defnitely worth going to and maybe even the second best festival I've been to!

Until the next one,

EliAngel

Hauls from TaoBao ❤

Posted by Unknown Monday, January 16, 2012 0 comments

Decided to share some stuff I bought from TaoBao last month! Went through an agent in Lowyat.net and it arrived safely on my doorsteps. The prices are in RMB (Chinese Yuan), so it's about half price  (≧∇≦)/

Both bags are at RMB59.90 so it's about RM30 each? I love the quality as it's durable and thick enough for me to throw my stuff in it. I always have heavy bags... (^^ゞ

Though one bad thing is that the inner compartment of the bag smells fishy...really! Had to put it out in the sun for a few days n spray some perfume. But other than that I really love the bags because it's fashionable and I don't see these bags in KL (◕‿◕✿)

Its pretty hard to find nice covers for Samsung Galaxy Ace here in Malaysia so I ordered this cute bunny cover at RMB15.80 (About RM8)

Even so, I still have to pay for agent fees and shipping fess (to China and Malaysia). So it definitely costs more than the original price of the items. TaoBao is a great place to buy stuff if you know how to read mandarin :)

What Women Want

Was invited to the Capital FM launch at Lot 10 last month. I couldn't make it for the official launch in the evening due to work so I dropped by in the morning to check out their activities. They were preparing the final set up and rehearsals for the launch when I got there. Freebies were given out to people too. Have been listening to Capital FM for a few times and I quite like their content and some of their old school music :)

Pop up stores and banners were placed outside to promote the radio station. There was free airbrush tattoo, hair makeover by Snips, free makeup by Sasa and many more! Had my free makeup done at Sasa and tried on some fake lashes which felt like my lids weigh a ton...haha. Guessed I'm not used to this.. I prefer just my concealer and eyeliner. Heh ヾ(^ ^ゞ
