Lizzie's Farewell @ Marmalade Cafe, Bangsar Village II

Posted by Unknown Monday, October 25, 2010 0 comments
Planned a farewell for Lizzie back in September as she was leaving to UK to further her studies the next day.

Decided to have late lunch at Marmalade in Bangsar Village II.

Strawberry Delight, RM9 / Day Starter, RM9
The drinks are not too sweet and also refreshing *slurps*

Clockwise: Pasta Salad, RM17 / Pumpkin Soup (Soup of the Day), RM10 / Chicken Burger, RM22 / Beef Lasagna, RM21

Lebanese Wrap - Turkey Ham Sandwich, RM17
Ordered the above as my meal and it tasted good wrapped with ham, spinach and also cheese! Pretty unique I must say, and healthy too :D

Goofed around after meal. We were probably the youngest group of people on that day excluding toddlers.

Next up, DESSERTS!
Carrot Cake, RM11
The size of the carrot cake is huge! Nonetheless, love the nuts and the texture of the cake which is accompanied by the yummy marmalade (citrus peel)! :D

Oreo Cupcake, RM5
The icing is sweet, one is enough.

Apple Crumble, RM10.50
JC poured too much custard sauce on it resulted it on being too sweet but other than that the taste is addictive. It would be best to share this with someone as it gets pretty filling after a while.

Me and my oreo cupcake ♥

More happy pictures

I love the fact that Marmalade Cafe is very spacious and also bright! Makes me very happy because the place is well lighted. Sunshine love! Simple interior design and also cute murals on the walls definitely brightens up your day. A great environment to gather with friends and also get together for a nice dinner. Although the price is not cheap, but it's worth it as the portions are pretty filling and the desserts are plain awesome :D The meals are also healthy! Definitely a place to return to.

Can I has a Blackberry Torch 9800?

Posted by Unknown Thursday, October 21, 2010 0 comments
Before the existence of broadband, GPRS and 3G, we could only rely on land-line connection that would take forever and also cost a bomb. Everything you do had a limited amount of time and space because your parents will constantly ask you to get off the land-line as it disrupts incoming and outgoing calls. Back then, everyone must have felt frustrated just like....
being trapped in a box.

As technology advanced with the existence of high speed broadband and mobile internet, our generation is becoming more saturated with many social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, just to name a few. Almost everyday, we're on the internet replying emails, paying bills and watching videos with just a click on our computer or mobile. Technology has made everything so easy for us.

Celcom will be launching the latest model of Blackberry called Blackberry Torch 9800 on this 29th October.
Ever since my dad got a Blackberry a few years back, I've fallen heads over heels over it as the QWERTY keypad is so easy to type and everything you need is within your reach. What I love most is the Blackberry Messenger!
The BBM is an instant messaging app exclusively for Blackberry owners to keep in touch with. That way, you can keep in touch with your friends who also owns a Blackberry anytime and anywhere! Yes you heard it right, the BBM functions internationally where you can keep it touch with your contacts overseas!

I also love the fact that Blackberry allows you to sync your emails which enables you to receive emails from personal or business contacts 24/7 without fail. Attachments on email can also be opened.

With the new and improved model of Blackberry, the latest Torch 9800 offers many new exciting features for users to discover. The Blackberry Torch 9800 is the first smartphone with a Blackberry keyboard and also a 3.2 inch touch screen. What I like about this new Blackberry is that you'll be able to slide the Blackberrt keyboard open or close depending on when you want to use it. It looks cool with the slide function that makes the new Blackberry Torch 9800 look sleek and sexy!

Other awesome features which includes:
The Blackberry Torch 9800 memory is expendable up to 32GB with a microSD card. Sounds great! I would be able to store lots of music, files, videos and also capture more pictures with the amount of memory space I have in the Blackberry!
Even better, this would be another favourite feature of mine from the Blackberry Torch 9800! A 5 megapixel camera that comes with an in-built flash, continuous auto-focus and image stabilization! To get creative, there's also 11 photo modes to play around with! I'll also be able to record videos at ease. Talk about spontaneous pictures and fun adventures! :)
Taking pretty pictures makes me happy! Photo taken using my 2MP mobile camera.

Blackberry Torch offers intergrated socialfeeds where you can update a single post to different social networks you're connected to. Besides that, you can also view your social network feeds in one platform. Simple and easy!

Of course, everyone will be thinking of which service providers to choose as data and call plans are not cheap! Celcom offers the fastest, widest and clearest mobile network that will keep you connected 365 days. Celcom is Malaysia's No.1 Blackberry provider with the best plans and also Blackberry smartphones. Check out Celcom's Exec 50 plans which offers up to 30% discount off you phone bill every month!
As a student, I feel the rates in this plan is relatively cheap compared to the others. Every month, I'll just need to pay a monthly fee of RM50 and add on the total cost for calls, sms and data usage. The more you use, the more you save! Further information about the rates can be checked here.

The first 100 customers to pre-register and purchase the new Blackberry Torch 9800 will get to enjoy FREE:
- Jabra Bluetooth Headset worth RM125
- 8GB Micro SD Card worth RM68
- Energizer Portable worth RM58
Next 1000 customers will get a FREE limited edition Blackberry Torch Battery Door.

That's not all! Celcom is also offering amazing deals at the launch of the Blackberry Torch 9800 on the 29th of October! This promotion is ONLY offered on the day of the event! Don't miss out on this golden opportunity to get awesome deals for your Blackberry Torch! There will also be other fun activities, prizes and giveaways on that day.

Disqus Comment System

Posted by Unknown Tuesday, October 19, 2010 0 comments
Finally added this commenting system called Disqus onto my blog! Pretty happy with the application for now as it's easy to install and moreover you can sync your old comments with Blogger! It won't dissappear :D

Although it loads slightly slower, but it's worth it as the commenting system is easier and you get to comment using your Facebook and Twitter account too! Initially, I wanted to go for another comment system called IntenseDebate but I had an error thus emailing them to help me solve my problem. I was disappointed as they did not respond to my email even after a week, so I installed Disqus. Let's see how this goes :)

Best of all, Disqus is FREE!

Blazing

Posted by Unknown Monday, October 18, 2010 0 comments
It's been long since I bought some books to read. So much for encouraging reading culture, the books sold here are freaking expensive. *pfft*

To fill in my current free time, reading would be something useful to spend my time with instead of facing the computer by aimlessly surfing the net or streaming shows from the net. Heck, I've been loosing touch with lots of Kdramas and music for the past month during the duration of my laptop being fixed AGAIN. Seriously, I need a new laptop. rawr. But changes is good, instead of fixating on my daily dose of entertainment, now I need to find something else to focus on.

Currently engrossed with Dan Brown's latest book titled The Lost Symbol, personally love all his books except Digital Fortress which was boring to me. The weather's so hot that I actually fell asleep while reading. *rushes to refill iced water*

Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, 狄仁杰之通天帝国

Posted by Unknown Sunday, October 17, 2010 0 comments

When the mysterious deaths of a series of loyal subjects threaten to delay the 690 A.D. inauguration of Empress Wu Zetian, she summons the infamous Detective Dee back from an exile into which she cast him eight years earlier.

Personally, I felt the movie was pretty predictable. You'd almost know who's the villain at the beginning of the movie. There's also a heavy use of CG which killed some elements of the past.

There was also a scene that reminds me of Charon, who brings souls to the underworld.

Other than that, the movie was pretty interesting with a different twist in the storyline, awesome costumes of the Queen, conspiracies, disguise and the fight choreography by Sammo Hung. It was also amusing to see the quick witted and intelligent Detective Dee solving the case by adding a few humorous scenes in the movie.

Rating: 7/10

甜品哥哥 Dessert Brothers Hong Kong, SS15 Subang Jaya

Posted by Unknown Monday, October 11, 2010 0 comments
Another dessert shop is the latest addition to SS15 Subang Jaya!甜品哥哥 pronounced Tin Pan Gor Gor (cantonese) is a new Hong Kong dessert shop which was recently opened (their 3rd outlet). Dessert Brothers is located at the same row as Snowflake, decided to try out something new as Snowflake has been my constant dessert place.

Dessert Brother's menu has a wide variety which made me undecided on what to try out first. Looked through and saw lots of mango infused dessert so I guess it must be their specialities.
 芒果肠分, Mango Rolls - RM8
Decided to order the mango rolls as it intrigued me on what it really taste like. It assembles the typical Chee Cheong Fun but with mango syrup and also wrapped with mango. At first I thought they wrapped the mango with tau foo fah but the staff said it's some coconut thingy. So far, this is my favourite :D

芒果椰汁黑米, Black Glutinous Rice with Mango Coconut Milk - RM8.50
The taste of the glutinous rice and coconut milk is ok but tasting if along with the mango, I felt it tasted pretty weird as the sweetness of the mango and the rest doesn't match really well.

芝麻糊+汤丸, Black Sesame Sweet Soup + Sweet Rice Balls - RM7
The soup is actually more like a paste and there's a thick plus heavy black sesame taste to it which I was overwhelmed with. Black sesame is not my favourite but surprisingly I only like the black sesame rice balls, whereas the soup is just meh...

椰果西米楼, Sago with Nata de Coco - RM5.50
Pretty alright for a thirst quencher as it's not too sweet and the Nata de Coco blends well with the dessert.

Customer Service: 7/10
Ambiance: 6/10
Food: 6/10
Price: 5/10

The desserts are pretty pricey, it can go up to about RM13 for those with better ingredients such as the 雪哈 (xuet kap) or also known as Hasma. Overall, the desserts that I've tried above are so-so, but will definitely pay them another visit as some of the dessert looks pretty interesting.

甜品哥哥 Hong Kong / Dessert Brothers is located at:
57, Jalan SS15/8A,
47500 Subang Jaya,
Selangor.
Tel: 03-56323204

They also have other branches in Kepong and PJ SS2.

Dress code for the night - Black!

The Chan Brothers - Edwin, Derek and Kenneth
Thanks Kenneth for the event pictures above :)

Amelia & Me.
Love my Liese Sweet Pink hair colour here. Looks nice with flash xD

Stayed on for the after party after the launch ended. Went around Barsonic and Velvet and had an awesome possum night!

I really love the smell of Hugo Boss new fragrance, Boss Bottled Night. It has a woody sweet scent which I like! Compared to the heavy fragrance that my dad uses, I totally dig the Boss Bottled Night because of it light and sweet scent. Spares me from the headache xD
