Charles & Keith Warehouse Sale

Posted by Unknown Thursday, March 8, 2012 0 comments

I found out about Charles & Keith Warehouse Sale through Facebook and decided to check it out this morning since I have no classes and also get some new shoes at a discounted price. Most of them were off season but they are still pretty anyway :) It is my first time participating in a warehouse sale. Reach at 11am and there were already tons of people there!

It was held in a basement parking lot so it is super stuffy! People filled the front and it was pretty hard to check out the shoes because the service was slow. No pictures of the crowd as I was busy trying to get my shoes. Those who were there will know what was it like. There weren't many choices of bags and wallets that I liked..most looked pretty average and quite pricey. Just head over to the shoes section will do!

There are sections of belts and bags then shoes at 50% discount, RM19-RM29, RM39-RM49 and RM59-RM79. Oddly, I saw some shoes priced at RM100+

Few things to point out:
1. They let too many people in at once. Though I've never been to a warehouse sale before, but from what I heard...others usually limit the amount of people to get in to purchase their items. I went in at 11 and the crowd was pouring in. Wasn't sure after that whether they still let people in freely or did some crowd control. Too many people = messy and high demand. Bigger venue next time please? And hopefully more air ventilation.

2. Lack of staff. This is their first warehouse sale..but they should not underestimate the amount of customers. Less than 8 staff per counter vs 30-50 customers is not going to work. Plus the amount of shoes people demand..it's gonna take them time to find. They are also overwhelmed by the amount of customers request which slows down the service. Kudos to them for being patient but they really need to speed up their service.

3. Unorganized. Some staff tend to stick to one side of the counter and those at the other side get ignored. People have to wait for like 40 mins to get their shoe? And some staff can't find where the shoes are located then they are just gonna say no stock =.=

I was there for 4 hours ++ and only managed to get 5 pairs. So one pair takes 1 hour? I was patient enough to wait..some people left after a while. Some staff say they can't find the size or no more stock but in fact there are still stock for some. I had to ask them more than 5 times to get it for me before they acknowledge my request...sigh. Everyone was complaining due to the slow service.

One incident where I ask different staffs to find a snakeskin printed gladiator sandals. All of them told me out of stock...but when I went to the other side to check...it is located at the bottom of the rack and JUST facing the counter!!! During my last round, I saw the tables from the RM19-RM29 sections were on the floor. Lol...I guess people were already impatient and some people just want to get a look at the shoes hence the pushing.

These 5 pairs are my purchase. I am really happy with it! Don't need anymore new shoes for the year :D There are many gorgeous heels that I spotted on people's hand but I can't seem to find much due to the crowd. After a while I just gave up and head home with my lovely shoes ^^

Some tips for those of you who are heading to Charles & Keith Warehouse Sale for the next few days:
1. Wear thin clothes, t-shirts or whatever you are comfy in. Cotton is the best cause you're gonna sweat like mad! Don't wear blazers or your precious/favourite clothes because it's like a warzone! With people pushing and everything, you stuff might get damaged.

2. Bring a clutch with your money, phone and credit card. Big bags tend to get in the way. They give recycle bags to put your shopping in.

3. Bring a handkerchief and a small bottle of water! It's gonna be hot and sweaty inside there and there is no one selling bottled water outside except for ice cream? Hydrate yourself...don't faint. And if you feel dizzy go out to get some fresh air :)

4. Patience! Since they are understaffed, you have to REALLY wait to get your turn. If you can't wait..then don't bother going at all.

5. Don't forget your shoe boxes! You need it to purchase your shoes with the shoes boxes, otherwise they can't scan the price and you can say goodbye to your shoe or go through another hassle to find the shoe box which you will mostly likely not find it.

5. If you see someone holding a shoe that you like, don't hesitate to ask them to help you get your size instead of waiting forever :)

6. After all your shopping, head over to the corner and try all your shoes plus check for defects before paying! If you don't mind a minor scratch then its ok. I had this shoe that lost a buckle and only noticed it when I put all my things down to try on. Clear your mind ;P

Charles & Keith I really love your shoes but please improve on your warehouse sale service :)
I guess most warehouse sale are similar? Broke my warehouse sale virginity. LOL. Looks like I won't be going for one anytime soon. Exhausted after spending a few hours in the warehouse~

Finally, the long awaited Japanese brand UNIQLO is here in Malaysia! 4th of November marks the launch of its first store in Malaysia at Fahrenheit 88. UNIQLO Malaysia is the largest outlet in Southeast Asia which is 3 storeys high!

Me and Sharmayne decided to be gung ho/crazy and do something that we've never done before, which is to line up in the early morning. Shasha came to my place at 6am and surprisingly we reached KL in just 25 minutes! If only the traffic could be this smooth everyday... Parked the car and searched for the queue to start lining up. About 100 people were there already when we reached, some even came since last night! =O

Since we have like 4-5 hours to kill, brought along The Lost Symbol to read and also sweet potato for breakfast :)

crowdmorning
More and more people started pouring in as time pass. The line even reached to the back of the mall. Some attempted to cut queue and kudos to UNIQLO's management for solving the problem :)

Happy to be an early bird to stand a chance to win a trip to Japan :)

Shasha wants to win too!

After the launch, we finally get to go in store to check out UNIQLO's products! *frenzy mode on*

counter-n-bag
Staffs giving away free tote bag for the first 1000 customers. The staffs were on high spirit greeting everyone and they're friendly too :) Shasha was saying they were injected with Happy Serum or something. LOL.

winter clothes
They have a lot of pretty winter wear this season. Affordable too :)
Too bad Malaysia is hot, hot, HOT!

Queuing up for the changing room. Sooo many people!

neat to messy
Since UNIQLO is having a special promotion starting today till Sunday, everyone was rushing to get something. Check out the original state and the aftermath as more people came in!

DSC_0045(2)
Messy kan? Like war zone xD

DSC_0047(2)
Waiting for pay for our items. Unfortunately, the jeans on promotion at RM49.90 doesn't seem to have a nice cut and fit. Changed to a few smaller size but it didn't go to well. Didn't get it in the end. Managed to use some RM20 voucher from GO UNIQLO. Too bad I didn't bring all of them. sheesh.

aftershopping
Happy shoppers! We thought we spend quite a long time in UNIQLO but it was only about an hour and a half. Felt that the ladies outfits wasn't much of a choice. Not my style =\ Ended up getting some tee's from the guys section.

crowdafter
Flabbergasting! There were tons of people queuing up during noon as well which will probably last till the night. UNIQLO must have earned quite a number today...

Still can't hide our joy! We're relief that we actually came at 6.30am if not we'll end up god knows where at the back of the line waiting for hours to get in.

DSC_0071(2)
Walked around Fahrenheit 88 and purchased more stuff.

Sucky Korean food at Pavilion's foodcourt. KimchiHaru ftw!

Random street shot while waiting to cross the road.

Let's see the damage I've done today :(
shirts
3 T-shirts for the brother from UNIQLO / Owl shirt from Chapter 8

clothesnjewelry
UNIQLO shirts, fleece jacket, leggings! Some of the leggings are only at RM9.90! Rings and earrings from DooDleaccessories.

My thought of UNIQLO is that the items there are okay. Maybe because most of the collection now are for winter. Not much ladies wear that suited my taste. Shall wait for the next season. Till then, adios :)

Went to Midvalley today with the parents in the evening. Crowded as usual.

Walked around to shop. Was suppose to buy eyeliner but it was out of stock. So I ended up buying other things and is now super broke. meh.
Kickin' Jack Nachos with guacamole, RM24.90 :d

Decided to have dinner at Chilis as we haven't been there for quite some time.
No pictures of the main course as we straight away dig into our foods. *hungry* heheh :P

Ordered wine and the staff asked me to show my id because apparently I look like a 15 year old. pfft. so paiseh.
Chocolate Brownie Sundae, RM12.95

The dessert is a sin! Chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, walnuts and cherry.

These are some of the items I bought today. Decided to try the Liese Juicy Shower Hydrating Hair Mist. Also bought the Liese Bubble Hair Color in Sweet Pink. Gonna dye my hair tomorrow :D Hope it turns our well!

Posted by Unknown Friday, July 3, 2009 0 comments
Continue from the previous post. After walking around, we headed off to the TIC zone. There are loads of food stalls there. They even have lok lok :) The choices of food were definitely better than last years. Palette palette was there was well but the queue was so long that I gave up on wanting to try their food. But it looks absolutely delish ;p

Some stalls selling quirky tess. Love the designs. Mahal jugak.

After more scouting at the marketplace. We manage to buy a few items. More like I bought the most ;p Chloe only bought a dress. Bumped into a few familiar faces as well. Settled for dinner with fried kuey teow. Sat along the lakeside while listening to the music playing at the Sunset Disco.

The songs at the beginning were pretty alright. After that it just went downhill. Prefer the ones at the Zouk's Barsonic tent.

Another round of shopping during the night cuz that's when the 'sale' began :P Chloe bought her dress for RM20. Bargain!

Left around 9 plus. Chloe's sister came and pick us up and they dropped me off at the KTM station. Waited for some time cuz there wasn't enough ppl yet and it seems that something's wrong with the train that we're in so we switched to another train. Took KTM back to Subang and most of the Urbanscapers went off at KL Sentral. Had to miss Twilight Actiongirl cuz no transport back :(

John picked me up at the KTM Station and headed off to Dahrul Salam, SS15 for yam cha session. After that headed off to The Racks for pool. Saw Haziq, Amir & Shahir there.

This is the painting that I bought from The Fashion Forest stall
cache_1273698718
My eyes was set to this piece of painting when I first saw it. Like there was some kind of connection. Bought it for RM30 and I only realize that the series for this painting is In search for Dreams and the title is Key to my Dreams. Padahal I'm such a dreamer kan :) <3 Am I crapping?

Bought 2 pair of wayfarers. One black with pink sides from Abstrax Jingga and another white ray ban. Abstrax Jingga gave this really nice and long paper bag. It's really funky as well. For keeps. So it's currently with the painting and the free Urbanscapes postcards on the top of my printer. It's known as my 'little art corner' for now :P

Bought a new purple Forever 21 dress for RM40 as well. :D

This years Urbanscapes is better & bigger compared to last year =) But somehow I prefer last year's Marketplace. Although it was like pasar malam but I enjoyed going through each and every stall whereas this years some stalls seem to gain less attention cuz they're placed behind. And the ticketing booth is overshadowed by the X-Pax booth. lol

Hope next year's one will be even better :)
Thanks again Nuffnang for the tickets!
