It's almost time for SYNERGY! And with four stages and a crazy lineup, this year it's going to be bigger and better...
SUN, MUSIC, DANCING, CAMPING...GET EXCITED!
After
the hugely successful 2012 launch, Synergy Festival 2013 is back in
Cape Town on the from Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December at Theewaters Sports Club,
Theewaterkloof Dam. This year Synergy Live brings you The
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus,
Foreign
Beggars DJ Set, Everything
Everything AND Feed Me and a ton of local acts. The line-up is sure to make Synergy Live one of the best festivals this season!
The
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
play melodic hard rock that makes room for punk and power-pop
influences. Frontman Ronnie Winter’s emotional vocals get the band
classified as emo by some, but their brand of earnest, angsty rock is
more closely aligned to that of groups like Hoobastank
or Linkin
Park. RJA formed in 2003 near Jacksonville, Florida went through
several incarnations before finalizing its lineup: singer Ronnie
Winter, guitarists Elias Reidy and Duke Kitchens, bassist Joey
Westwood and drummer Jon Wilkes. RJA will be bringing you the best
offerings over all 4 of their albums. Be prepared to have your mind
blown…
Everything
Everything
are a British alternative rock band that formed in late 2007, they
originate from Tynedale, Kent and Guernsey, and reside in
Manchester. The band has received critical acclaim for their 2 albums
'Man Alive' & 'Arc' featuring hit singles 'Kemosabe' & 'Cough
Cough'. 'Arc'
was released on 14 January 2013, and debuted at number 5 on the UK
album chart. The album was hailed as "another tour de force"
by The
Observer.
Foreign
Beggars (DJ Set)
Clocking up over 100 shows a year, Foreign Beggars have touched down
on just about every continent, supporting the likes of The Prodigy,
Amy Winehouse, Snoop Dogg and the Wu Tang Clan along the way. Their
legendary live show has left crowds fevered and frenzied as the group
seamlessly blend grime, dubstep, drum and bass and rap music. One
third of the Foreign Beggar collective, DJ Nonames is a
well-respected member of London’s scratch community, whose ability
to treat the turntables as an instrument instead of a gimmick is
rarely matched. Previously supporting the likes of Talib Kwali and
appearing at the Underground Music Awards alongside Dizzee Rascal,
Nonames recorded the scratches for Damon Albarn’s massively
successful Gorillaz project. Nonames brings a remarkable level of
spontaneity and improvisation to the freestyle element of the Foreign
Beggar Live act.
Synergy
Live 2013 has also recently announced their hotly anticipated line up for their
electro stages in both Cape Town and Johannesburg with international
headline act “Feed Me” bringing his epic and unique brand of electronica
to our South African shores.
Introduced
to the world in 2008, “Feed Me” has made his presence felt with high
octane beats that gets crowds moving. Featuring as the first external
artist to feature on DeadMau5 internationally
acclaimed mau5trap label means the he is a force to be reckoned with
and he has proven why he is one of the leading figures in electronic
music, as he continues to capture the imagination of listeners
worldwide.
Having honed
his sound and style with a succession of high profile remixes and
singles, it was his first EP for the label in 2010 that garnered him
international recognition and made the world stand up and take note. The
8-track ‘Feed Me’s Big Adventure’ immediately took Beatport by storm,
with six tracks hitting the top 10 and finding their way into the music
collections of fans across the spectrum.
Since then, his star has continued to rise. Production credits include ‘Midnight
Run’ from Example’s third album, ‘Playing in the Shadows’ and ‘Bleeding
Out’ from Korn’s latest album showcased his diverse skills in the
studio, while the 4-track ‘To The Stars’ EP and most recently ‘Feed Me’s
Escape From Electric Mountain’ have delved yet further into his
inimitable sound, touching upon everything from electro house to
dubstep.
In
August 2012, “Feed Me” released a new single titled "Little Cat Steps"
and in October 2012 he released another single with folk band Crystal
Fighters, titled "Love Is All I Got". The EP also features four remixes
including the "Matilda" remix with “The Death By Robot” EP being
released on 16 January 2013.
“Feed
Me” continues to tour far and wide, from Alexandra Palace to I Love
Techno with Coachella, Wireless and Global in the pipeline for 2013.
This year Synergy Live combined the perfect list of local acts. It is almost as if you don't want to miss a single one them.
